His heart-stopping good looks, rich vocals and easy smile are bound to win over locals and visitors alike. Barry will also sing a spine-tingling version of the national anthem ahead of the tournament finals on Sunday 25th May.

Having sung with the likes of Guy Sebastian, Jessica Mauboy and Stan Walker, Barry Southgate also has a deeply spiritual side, and plans to spend time getting to know the young polo players who have won this year’s indigenous polo scholarship and will compete in the 2014 Kimberley Challenge. Life and music have taken Barry far from his humble beginnings, “I was born in Cape Town, South Africa, which is one of the most stunning places you could ever see. I'm of African/English/German/Indonesian descent. I spent my childhood in South Africa, then began my teenage years in Auckland, New Zealand, when my parents decided we'd move there for a better quality of life.”

The Pinctada Cable Beach Polo is a three day festival, attracting visitors from around Australia and the world as well as some of the world’s best polo players to the famous pearling town in the Kimberley region of northwest Australia. The polo is the cornerstone of a range of exciting Broome events and celebrations including cocktail parties, fashion showings and Dinner Under The Stars on Cable
